The show follows the adventures of the titular stray dog, "Boomer" and ran for two seasons, ending its run in August 1982, with the final original episode, "Flatfoots," airing on July 3 of that year.

1. Molly
Boomer meets a misunderstood young girl named Molly and helps her parents find the reason for her withdrawal from others.

2. Me and My Shadow
Boomer runs into a down on his luck entertainer who's also a heavy drinker. It seems that he was half of a team and he decided to break away from his partner. His partner who has his own TV show wants him to appear on the show but he is uncertain if he can do it. Boomer helps him.

3. Jailbreak
After escaping three men who are capturing stray dogs for use in experimental work, Boomer helps a boy whose dog is stolen to release the other captured strays.
