The Night Caller

Former science teacher Tony Conroy now works the night shift as a taxi driver in Liverpool, living a solitary life as he drifts through the monotony of picking up and dropping off passengers night in and night out. After an uncomfortable conversation with a former colleague, Tony feels a desperate need to talk to someone and decides to call late-night radio show NightTalk. Thriller, starring Robert Glenister and Sean Pertwee.

The awful realisation of what Tony has done starts to dawn on him and he goes into survival mode, trying to cover up the horror of the previous night and asking Rob for help. On Lawrence's radio show, the incident is big news, but as Tony listens to what the callers have to say, he gradually feels bolstered and somehow starts to reconcile the awful thing he's done.

Rob advises Tony to leave town, revealing Ste Murray is involved with dangerous people - but shortly after the taxi driver is stunned when Lawrence hails his cab, stunned that he is finally getting to meet his hero. But he gets a shock to realise the radio presenter is the complete opposite of his public persona.
