The year is 1863, with the story being based in Kyoto. We follow a youth named Nio who is an honest and kind soul who's considerate of his family, yet he also has a hidden burning passion for seeking justice. From the time he came across Toshizou Hijikata and Souji Okita, members from a group of hated ronin known as the Miburo, his life then takes a turn to a bluer, and clearer path. Nio, alongside the other men whose hearts burn bravely and true, step forth towards an honest path with their blue wills adorned on their hearts!

1. The Wolves of Mibu and a Boy
Nio and his sister meet a pair of charming swordsmen in their grandmother's Kyoto eatery. Despite unsavory rumors, the children befriend the ronin from the east. How will these "wolves of Mibu" change their destinies?

2. A World Where It's Okay To Cry
The Miburo's headquarters doesn't make the best first impression. Nio quails in the face of a pack of rowdy samurai, not all of whom welcome a kid in their ranks.

3. Where the Soul Dwells
Nio meets another boy Miburo: Tanaka Taro. Despite Hijikata's warnings, he tries to start a friendship. But when Serizawa kills a fellow ronin, Taro gets orders to dispose of the evidence.
