Nommé depuis quelques mois, le directeur de la prison, Normand Despins, a convoqué Élise pour répondre du vol de deux chandelles. Marie fait son entrée à Lietteville en compagnie de Shandy. Marie est profondément humiliée par les procédures auxquelles elle doit se soumettre à l’arrivée. Jeanne pique une colère quand elle apprend que c’est Marie et non Shandy qui logera à l’unité 9.

Caroline fait part à Marie de détails pratiques qu’elle doit régler. De mèche avec Jeanne, Shandy lui conseille de demander un changement d’unité. Désemparée depuis qu’elle a appris qu’elle est enceinte, Laurence demande conseil à Caroline puis à Élise.
