Mitari Yo is a career woman who works for a shoe company. She finds her work rewarding and has successfully advanced in her career. Her love life, on the other hand, isn't doing as well. Ishida Ren works for a real estate developer and is Yo’s best friend. An ex-classmate from both high school and university days, he understands her best and is the only person she pours her heart out to. On Yo’s 29th birthday, the two friends place a wager to give 300,000 yen as a congratulatory gift to the one who is the first to get married by the last day they are 30. Although they declare that it is impossible for them to fall in love with each other, this wager, as well as advances by Ren’s junior in the company and Yo’s reunion with her ex-boyfriend, lead to gradual changes in the relationship of the two best friends.

Mitari Yo, an office lady working at a shoe company, is not very happy about the coming of her 29-year-old birthday. On this special day her coworker Takao Jo, who is also her ex-boyfriend, informs her that he is going to get married, and that makes her become more anxious about the fact of turning 30 next year.
2. If I Can't Get Married, and I'm Alone Forever...
Yo tries to look for "a potential partner" through an app and meets a couple of guys. They are nice but none of them seems to be "the one" for her. Her friend introduces her to a jinja that is famous for good romantic luck, and she has a good time there with Ren.
3. The Seed of Love Is Planted
Yo's mother suggests her to start a romantic relationship with Ren, but Yo says that they could only be "close friends" and it's impossible for them to become a couple. Meanwhile, after Maki's welcome party, Maki invites Ren for dinner for just the two of them.
