Black Heart White Soul

SIN WAI-YING from the Organized Crime and Triad Bureau (OCTB) is requested to carry out investigation at the crime site. WAI-YING discovers the murderer and finds the offender successfully. Police CHEUNG LAP-FUN immediately chases after the offender alone. In order to stop the offender from firing his gun, LAP-FUN creates a traffic accident and an innocent civilian is seriously injured. Five years later, LAP-FUN becomes a probationary inspector and he joins the OCTB. He carries out investigation on the gang leader LAU YIM with his partner NG SHING-YEE. LAU YIM’s younger sister LAU MIU accidentally provokes some gangsters at work and her good friend TAM MEI-CHING rescues her. MEI-CHING is LAU YIM’s girlfriend and she works at a brand name shop. Her colleague YIP YING-SUM is her good friend. After accompanying MEI-CHING for a drink at the pub, YING-SUM is not able to work on the next day and MEI-CHING replaces her……

After a car accident five years ago, CHIT-HANG has to use wheelchair in his daily life. MEI-CHING believes that CHIT-HANG will not be able to help her for he is disabled. When CHIT-HANG leaves, LAP-FUN recognizes that he is the victim of that car accident but CHIT-HANG doesn’t recognize LAP-FUN at all. LAP-FUN invites YING-SUM to provide information at the police station. YING-SUM reveals that MEI-CHING is LAU YIM’s girlfriend. She also reveals that she is not able to work on that day after getting drunk. LAU MIU worries that her family members will be embroiled in the case. She burns LAU YIM’s drugs and LAU YIM’s people try to chase after her. MEI-CHING finally accepts the help from CHIT-HANG and she is released on bail. MEI-CHING learns that YING-SUM has provided information to the police. She questions her and they end up in discord……

In order to apologize, SHING-YEE borrows money from LAP-FUN and he offers the money to the dead person’s family members but they reject him. CHIT-HANG tries hard to train up MEI-CHING so that she could present herself well during the hearing. LAU MIU takes risk to attend the hearing so that she could speak for MEI-CHING. The prosecution side tries to provide a large amount of evidences but CHIT-HANG overrules them. He points out that LAP-FUN is not objective enough and YING-SUM finally admits that she may have blamed MEI-CHING wrongly. LAP-FUN meets up with CHIT-HANG. After thinking through the case, he decides to support CHIT-HANG in helping MEI-CHING. During the final stage of the hearing, MEI-CHING speaks for herself at the court. She presents herself fluently but the prosecution side suddenly provides some new evidences and MEI-CHING fails to explain it. CHIT-HANG is very shocked and it suddenly seems that they are going to lose.
